First Day of School

Today was Caedmon's very first day of school. I took him yesterday afternoon to drop off his supplies and to see his classroom.
He woke up around 6:30 am on his own and came out of his room dressed and ready to go. How did my little boy grow up overnight? Our morning went well and we made it to his class on time. A kiss goodbye and out the door I went wanting so badly to turn back around to make sure he was OK. As I pulled out the drive of his school, the tears started flowing. My sister warned me about this just yesterday.

Then on the way to run an errand this song came on the radio and the tears came once again.
It's my prayer for Caedmon.

Find Your Wings
lyrics by Mark Harris

It’s only for a moment you were mine to hold.
The plans that heaven has for you will all too soon unfold.
So many different prayers I’ll pray for all that you might do.
But most of all I want to know that you’re walking in the truth.
And if I never told you I want you to know
That as I watch you grow…
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage to dare to do great things.
I’m here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind that leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong and guide you on your way
May there be many moments that make your life so sweet.
Oh but more than memories…. I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage to dare to do great things.
I’m here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

It’s not living if you don’t reach for the sky.
I’ll have tears as you take off…. But I’ll cheer as you fly….
I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage to dare to do great things.
I’m here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings.

I love you, Son!

Don't worry, mommy. I will be fine. My cool awesome daddy will keep me in line. I am smarter than you think and strong as an ox. Just watch out you teachers, I'm as sly as a fox!

Cool Caed Dude. 'Rock!'

What an exciting new adventure for your entire family - time flies so fast. It's sometimes hard to watch them grow up, but they all do :-)

oh girl your making me cry! What a stud you have though...he is getting so big! Someone once told motherhood is always about letting go. I told Jayne everywhere I go recently I see moms with babies and a toddler and it really hit me how fast they do grow up and I MISS THAT! Hope you have a great day today!

Awww, your post had me in tears. My time is coming soon. I'm sure it will be here before I know it. I guess you and Kaiya will need to have super mommy/daughter times during the day now.

Hang in there Mama! I'm going to warn you.....it is worse with your last. It seems like I've waited forever to have both in school for the entire day. But, now that it is hear......let me tell you, it is alot harder than I thought it would be. Oh, and one other thing, I have the same verse on my blog. That is one of my favorites too!

Ha, Ha, I just noticed I spelled "here" wrong. I just wanted everyone to know that I am aware I did that. :}

Heather,
Caedmon and I were talking this morning about how today is Friday and that he won't be going to school for a couple of days. He wasn't very happy about that and said that he wanted to go to school tomorrow...hopefully his excitement for school will stay.

Kaiya and I miss him in the mornings. It has been nice to focus a little more attention on her though.

Kris,
I didn't even notice your misspelling until your second comment. Shanna also told me that she cried when Rylie (her youngest at the time) got on the bus for her first day of school. At that time she was probably thinking she would be her last...now there will probably be more tears for Emmi.

My little Girl went to school for the first time yesterday and I was trying to find some thing fitting to post with the pictures I took and when I came across your Blog I had to cry it was so sweet!! I ended up posting that song too. Thank you!
