All I heard the rest of the morning was "Can we go outside, Mom?". OK, sure...haul out the boots, hats, mittens, coats and here we go. The best part of playing in the snow is that it is self entertaining. You don't need toys, buckets or shovels...just two hands and two feet...throw it, eat it, fall in it, run in it, make a snow angel, make a snow fort, make a snowman...hours of entertainment. We didn't do all those things today, but certainly got two little kiddos worn out and ready for their naps this afternoon. And on the way back in to the house Caedmon asked "Can we play outside again tomorrow?". Absolutely! We just may make some snow ice cream for dessert tonight.

Oh, Sherri, I wonder how many households did what you did this morning! Karis was as well fascinated by the snow. She stared out her window this morning and kept saying, "..no.." So, I bundled her up and me...I decided to keep her sleeper on, but after I had 4 layers everywhere, her boots didn't fit. I started sweating...oh dear, not yet. So, I completely changed her and we were off! It took me about 20 min just to get outside, which I am sure is normal, I have just never tried before. Then I shoveled our lovely driveway after canceling my ortho app because it didn't look promises...I probably would have been ok because the sun came out. But it is all clear now! Karis loved it!
Sherri, Looks like so much fun. I love the first snow and all the excitment of the children being so happy about it. How was the snow ice cream? Now that sounds like something I could use about right now!!
Loved the pictures and the video.
Heather, we didn't try the snow ice cream after all. After watching my dog run all over our yard and doing who knows what, I decided the next time it snows to set out a bowl to catch fresh snow to use.
