Potty Training 101

This little girl is potty-trained. Hallelujah! Wow, what a difference it has been with her than with my son. I've always heard that girls are easier and I can agree. Saturday night, Kevin and I went to a fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis and left the kids with my dad. He had them to himself for a couple hours until my mom got home from work. She told him twice that she had to "go potty" so he put her on the potty and she went. I was so proud of her & him! I've been putting panties on her during the day when we're at home, but hadn't put them on her to go away until now. One piece of advice I would like to give is to not use the pull-ups except for maybe at night. I bought the panties that are thicker with more absorption and put a pair of plastic pants over them. I even found a pair with the plastic pants built in. It works great. No messes to clean up, which is why I used the pull-ups on my son. I think wearing the panties helps them feel when they have gone better than a pull-up. Although I just had to clean up a #2 mess in her underwear this morning and that isn't so fun with underwear. Accidents will happen, but she is doing great!

Wow! Kaiya is potty trained. What a fun stage to be in not to buy diapers! She looks so big. I agree that pull up's make it very hard to train.

I knew Karis had to go to the bathroom tonight because her diaper was dry and before I put her in the shower, I put her on the toilet. Nope, wanted off. I kept her on, but after a few minutes let her off. She didn't have any clothes on. Well, I went to the sink, turned around, and she was relieving herself on the floor. Thanks, Karis
